Big News!

I know it has been quite some time since I've updated on anything photography related when it comes to Christina Rush Photography. I took a step back and we've been taking time to reevaluate the business aspect- the not so fun side of photography. I've been away for about 3-3.5 years as our family had some big changes with the Mr. leaving active duty military, and our huge transition home to Tennessee.

For some time, I honestly didn't know if I would reestablish business or where I would go with it. I have a strong NEED for a creative outlook ant photography has been that for me for more than 10 years. Even after putting a photography business on the backburner, I still required a creative outlet- and I realize photography is more than a career choice for me, it's become part of who I am.

After some soul searching, I decided to go back to school as a dual major for Photography and Graphic Design. Why Graphic Design as well? I'm pretty well versed in photography- with of course, always having room for growth and learning new things and new equipment. With Graphic design, It'll allow me to push my creativity and thinking, as well as my focus being on more editing and photo manipulation. I have experience with both, but there's so much more to it I want to learn. I have a direction I want to take with my photography that will be unique as well as fulfilling for my need of being creative. When talking about my goals with my college advisor, to get what I desire, a dual degree is what I need.

While the work shown right now is my traditional photography- which I will still do because I love it, I will start showing some other ideas as time goes on. I will also incorporated some of the assignments I have done throughout school to show what I am doing and the progress I'm making.

I do want to go ahead and say, some things I might create- for school or even on personal projects, might be controversial. My hope is you can appreciate the work and creativity I showcase without attacking my viewpoint. We can agree to disagree on topics and still appreciate the artwork.

So, where does my business stand right now? For now, I will be operating as a hobbyist. Most of the work showcased will be projects I put together without any form of payment. As time goes on, I will reestablish my business- formally. I will be reactivating the Christina Rush Photography Facebook page so those that wish to, can follow my journey. As I have in the past, my goals are still more kid focused, but that may change some depending on how my ideas change. Maternity, Newborn and baby's first year have always held my heart. As my son grows, I'm falling in love with continuing capturing moments of him. I'm looking to test the waters from birth to high school graduation.

I hope you can appreciate my journey as I grow into the best artist I can be.

Xoxo,

Christina Rush
